In-School Guitar & Ukulele Lessons

Hi folks! Paul here. I have over 15 years experience teaching guitar/ singing and currently work at 5 schools in my local area of Sheffield.

I have a relaxed and friendly approach to teaching and place emphasis on delivering lessons that are based around contemporary music styles. Pupils have the opportunity to learn to play current songs, which I believe engages and inspires them to develop a love of music. Through my teaching music is made accessible for everyone to enjoy. Children will build their self-confidence, creativity and develop their individual talents as musicians.

Each pupil has the opportunity to perform in a termly concert in front of the school / parents. These concerts are the highlight of my teaching calendar and they give my students a huge sense of achievement.

Feel free to drop me an email at paul@paulhawksworth.com if you have any questions at all!

HOW LESSONS WORK

Lessons are taught in weekly 20-minute sessions during the school day. You have the option of choosing shared or individual lessons. (Shared are by far the most common and what I would recommend for most children).

Each term, your child has the opportunity to perform in front of an audience as part of guitar or school music concert. These concerts are always really popular with both my pupils and the audience - they’re like gigs held in school! They offer great practical performance experience on top of our weekly lessons and ensure we always have goals to work towards.

I’D LIKE TO SIGN UP! WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Once you’ve signed up using the links on this page, I will be in touch to confirm availability and answer any questions you may have.

After you’ve made payment for the term and filled in an online lesson agreement form I will allocate your child a slot in my timetable. You’ll be given a start date for the first lesson - you’re good to go!

Please note - I bill for each term in advance. Places for each school are very limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. If I am unable to offer your child a place at their school right now I will add you to the waiting list.

INSTRUMENTS

I never want not owning an instrument to be a barrier when wanting to learn the guitar. Luckily, I have a couple of spare guitars at school which all pupils are welcome to use during their lessons. If you don’t have a guitar for when they start, no problem!

However, I would suggest after a few weeks that if you don’t have one to consider getting hold of a guitar - just so your child can practice their stuff at home.
