Gets Me Through

I was asked recently to play a song at a school assembly loosely based around the theme of ‘environment’ and it got me thinking…

For me, the ‘environment’ can be the thing that surrounds us; the landscape, nature.

Or it can be who and what we surround ourselves with; the people, our things, and our habits.

All of these can affect our mindset and happiness. They shape who we are as individuals.

I wouldn’t be who I am without the people that surround me; my wife, my son, my family, my friends etc.

We can do an awful lot on our own, but I think it’s so important to be surrounded by people who affect us positively. Whether it be your family, your friends, your teachers etc.

I think it’s important to reflect on those people that are there for you and help you get by. Because without them, we wouldn’t be who you are.

This is a song to acknowledge that person who’s always there for you. It’s called 'Gets Me Through’.

It’s a shout-out to the people you know you can always rely on. The people that understand your ups and downs and that are going to be there no matter what…
